🌎 4 continents - 1 goal

They come from three different countries on three different continents—and are learning and working together at our agricultural research station in Berge: three interns who are working with our team for several weeks or months. Seun Muritala from Nigeria, Ernesto Rivero from Cuba, and Saad Ajmal Khan from Pakistan are currently assisting us with the many field trials that are currently underway. Their common goal is to gain practical experience in local agriculture while at the same time learning scientific methods of conducting and evaluating experiments. To achieve this, we first had to overcome a number of administrative hurdles together with our three interns, which in itself was a learning experience – because obtaining visas and financing is a difficult field. On the other hand, our current research projects offer the three interns a wide field of activity with many learning opportunities. These include the evaluation of nitrogen supply in winter cereals, emission reduction in biogas production, and the reduction of nitrate leaching—all highly topical issues for sustainable agriculture, not only in Europe, but also in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
