At the Institute for Agricultural and Urban Ecological Projects at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (IASP), we combine scientific expertise, analytical methods and practical experience to support partners from research, industry, agriculture, municipalities and public institutions.

Our services focus on five key areas:

🥗 Food & Nutrition

IASP provides general food and feed analysis as well as specialised testing of meat, sausage and fat products. Our services include the analysis of protein, fat, carbohydrates, sugars, dry matter, water, ash, dietary fibre, pectin, polyphenols, pH value and calorific value.

🌾 Biogenic Raw Materials

We characterise organic raw materials and evaluate their chemical, physical and biological properties. This includes enzyme activity testing, chromatographic method development, soil biological methods, ecotoxicological studies, plant trials and the assessment of the energetic potential of organic materials.

🐄 Animal Welfare

IASP supports science and practice with technology-based solutions for animal monitoring. Our services include video-based behavioural analysis, monitoring of daily weight gain, MoniPork and digital heat detection in cattle using electronic ear tags.

🌿 Urban Green

In the field of urban green infrastructure, IASP offers plant, soil and substrate analyses, greenhouse and field trials, phytotoxicity tests, particulate matter measurements, light measurements and evaluations of green roofs and façade greening systems.

🚜 Agricultural Research Station Berge

At our Agricultural Research Station Berge, we conduct practice-oriented field trials and agricultural studies under real-life conditions. Our services include variety testing, evaluation of fertilisers and plant protection products, soil and plant assessments, machinery testing and ecological and economic evaluation of crop production techniques.
