The European Poultry Conference (EPC2024) took place in Valencia, Spain, from 24 to 28 June 2024. The Spanish Branch (Asociación Española de Ciencia Avícola) of the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) was the patron of the conference. The EPC takes place every 4 years. The latest findings in various areas of poultry science are presented here, as well as the latest developments from companies involved in poultry production in an accompanying exhibition.
This year, the EPC welcomed more than 2000 participants. Our colleague, Dr Barbara Tzschentke, not only took part in this conference, but also actively supported it as a member of the Scientific Committee in the preparation of the scientific programme, in particular with regard to poultry physiology. Dr Tzschentke gave two presentations at the conference on the recently completed RobuChick project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, and chaired the scientific session on physiology.
